UNLOCK THE SECRETS OF SKIN AND MOISTURIZERS WITH THE HELP OF AYURVEDA
The arrangement of outermost layer of skin Stratum Corneum is like building bricks. It is necessarily impermeable structure with layers. This complex protective structure is continuously being renewed by transformation of cells, migrating up from living epidermis.
Stratum corneum is an excellent moisture barrier to encounter dehydration. Without which all could quickly dehydrate and perish. It is also very effective barrier to microbes and chemicals. The environmental factors disturb this protection of superficial layers such as humidity, wind, sun, detergents, solvents and chemicals; results in dryness of skin and dull looking skin.
Moisturizers reverse the effects of skin dryness leaving skin soft and smooth with looking natural healthy glow. An effective moisturizer should contain:-
• Good humectant such as Glycerol to hold water in the stratum corneum.
• Lipid emollients seal in moisture and prevent the washout when the skin is in contact with water. Simple moisturizers have much greater benefit for skin many other cosmetic ingredients said as cosmetic actives.
Such products are mentioned below-Warm coconut oil (Narikel Taila); Warm sesame oil (Tila Taila); Warm mustard oil (Sarso Taila); Butter, milk, cream have natural lipids. These products have to be applied on particular lukewarm temperature to activate inner live skin layer and to smoothen stratum corneum. Ayurvedic “Snehaabhyanga” is the perfect procedure for it. This restores products the elasticity of stratum corneum making skin firmer and more vibrant. Skin looks better, looks healthier and looks rejuvenated.
For extreme dry skin – warm coconut oil, mustard oil, abhyanga taila should be applied before bathing with mild pressure and no use of harsh detergents hot water bath.
For moderate dry skin – olive oil, moderate rated market products with glycerol and lipids, butter, milk cream.
For mild dry skin – glycerin + lemon juice + rose water at sleeping time.
